An original oil painting on board by the Italian artist Renato Natali (1883–1979), depicting a dreamlike evening street scene with figures beneath a dramatic sky. Painted in Natali's distinctive modernist style, the composition combines simplified architectural forms with rich tonal contrasts and luminous windows to create a striking sense of mood and place.
Hand sourced in Italy, the painting retains its original frame and is accompanied by period newspaper clippings relating to the artist attached to the reverse.
Renato Natali (1883–1979) was one of the leading painters of the Livorno School and a founding member of the Gruppo Labronico. A pupil of Guglielmo Micheli, who also taught Amedeo Modigliani, Natali became known for his expressive depictions of the streets, harbours and everyday life of his native Livorno. His work was exhibited at the Venice Biennale and remains highly regarded for its distinctive blend of post-Macchiaioli tradition and modernist influence.
